Laboratory 2:Things / Interfaces

This week we will be experimenting with a type of exercise that is sometimes called "recitation" in English. In the lab we will go through the exercises together and aloud - we will go around the room asking each of you in turn to answer the questions one by one and to give reasons for your answer. If you do not understand the answer that someone gives - ask right then for an explanation! Participation is more important than always having the right answers.

  1. Go through the exercises 1-5 at the end of chapter 3 (Things).
  2. Write down your solution to exercise 6 and compare it with a neighbor's.
  3. Now write down a sequence of definitions and assignments using labels for your neighbor (like exercise 3).
  4. Write down a solution to exercise 2 in chapter 4 and exchange it with a neighbor.
  5. Do exercise 3 with your neighbor's solution and exchange it with another neighbor.
  6. Do exercise 4 with your new interface.
  7. Do exercise 6 and show the teacher your solution.
  8. If there is time, do exercise 5!

The exercise for next week is an experiment, note that you will need to prepare some finger exercises!
