The purpose of this seminar is to get prepared for writing your Diplom thesis. We will be covering topics such as how to generate ideas, how to organize ideas, how to write about something, how to document your sources, and other questions that come up when you are writing a thesis.
The seminar meets every other Monday (uneven weeks) from 9.45-13.30 in VG 218. The course is pass/fail. I expect you to make every effort to attend the seminar and will only tolerate a maximum of 2 missed meetings. I expect people to be prepared for class, for example with prepared writing, so that we can spend time in class critiquing each other's writing. We may make an excursion to visit a real computing science library if there is a need to do so.
There is a tentative schedule, as mine always are, but this one es extremely tentative, as we will adapt it to fit the needs of the group.
The literature list gives you some sources, both online and in real books, about preparing a thesis.
